TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR THE USE OF STEAMER POINT LODGE
Definitions
In this agreement, the following definitions shall apply:
Adult means any person aged 16 or over
Council means BCP Council
We means Steamer Point Lodge
You means the person making this booking
- Booking
1.1 All bookings are made subject to these terms and conditions. By accepting these terms and conditions you confirm that you, along with any other guests within your booking, are fully aware of the terms and conditions.
1.2 Full payment is required at time of booking.
1.3 The price of your stay includes overnight use of the lodge for the number of guests indicated:
Up to 4 people in total (maximum 4 Adults)
1.4 If you intend to organise a function at your lodge, e.g. party or birthday celebration, you must seek prior written permission from the Beach Lodges Manager.
1.5 You will be provided with a Lodge User Guide that contains important information about your stay with us. Please ensure that you and your guests familiarise yourselves with this information.
1.6 You must only use the lodge for holiday accommodation purposes. It must not be used for any other purpose, including any business purposes.
1.7 You must not use the lodge, or allow it to be used, for any dangerous, offensive, noisy, illegal, or immoral activities. You must not cause nuisance or annoyance to any neighbours or anyone else during your stay. You must not keep or allow to be kept in the lodge any dangerous, offensive items which could be used as a weapon or any illegal substances. If we believe this to be the case your stay will be terminated, and no refund or compensation will be given.
1.8 Smoking (including e-cigarettes) is not permitted inside the lodge. You will find ashtrays in the garden of the lodge where smoking and vaping is permitted.
1.9 You and your guests must not use candles, fireworks, or sky lanterns on any part of the Lodge site. Helium balloons must not be released from the Lodge site or any Council land.
1.10 Drones and model aircraft may only be flown in accordance with Civil Aviation Authority guidance. If you would like to use a model aircraft or drone for any filming or commercial purpose, please get in touch with the Council Events team.
1.11 Charcoal or gas barbecues cannot be used on the Lodge site. BBQs can be lit on the beach after 6pm. Fires are not allowed on the beach at any time.
1.12 No fire pits are permitted on the Steamer Point Lodge site at any time. This includes but is not limited to traditional fire pits, portable fireplaces and any open flame devices.
1.13 Guests are prohibited from bringing personal heating appliances including fans, oil heaters and electric radiators. If you require a heater or fan, please inform a member of staff before or during your stay.
- Cancellation
2.1 Should you need to cancel your stay, you will eligible to receive a full refund up to 14 days before check-in. Any cancellations after this time will only be considered in extenuating circumstances and must be approved by the Beach Lodges Manager. In such circumstances the Council reserves the right to charge an admin fee.
2.2 Should guests who are due to stay fall ill due to Coronavirus (COVID-19) or are required to self-isolate, please contact us as soon as possible by emailing hello@bournemouthbeachlodges.co.uk.
Guests that have made and paid for their booking before 9 July 2021, who need to change it due to COVID-19, can re-schedule their stay or receive a full refund. Bookings made from 9 July 2021 will follow our flexible COVID-19 cancellation policy.
Our flexible COVID-19 cancellation policy means you can cancel or re-schedule your stay if your break is impacted by COVID-19. If you need to cancel your stay, as long as you notify us by 3pm, 48 hours prior to arrival, we will refund your entire booking. For a Friday arrival, we must be notified by 3pm on Wednesday. If you cancel inside 48 hours of arrival, you will be charged for the first night of your stay. If we are able to re-sell the lodge, you will not be charged.
2.3 On the rare occasion that we need to cancel your booking, we will endeavour to notify you immediately. You will receive either a full refund for the booking, or offered the chance to move your stay to a later date. If you choose a stay in the same price bracket to which you originally paid, we will move your stay at no extra cost. If you choose a stay in a higher price bracket to which you originally paid an additional payment will be required. if you choose a stay in a lower price bracket to which you originally paid, we will refund you the difference back to the card you made the original payment with. Please note moving your stay is subject to our availability. We will not accept liability for any additional costs incurred by you in relation to the booking or its cancellation.
2.4 All refunds will be processed back to the card that was used to make the original booking.
2.5 To help guests book with confidence during the current Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, we will continue to follow the official guidance from the UK Government and Public Health England. Should we need to make any changes to our services or close for any reason, guests will be advised immediately and will be able to move their booking to a more appropriate time or if preferred to receive a full refund. Please note, moving your stay is subject to our availability.
- Responsibilities of the Guest
3.1 The maximum number of guests permitted to use the lodge are:
Up to 4 people in total (maximum 4 Adults)
This maximum number includes any infants and must not be exceeded. If the maximum number is exceeded, then we reserve the right to terminate your rental without prior notice and without refund or compensation.
3.2 There must be at least one capable and responsible person over the age of 21 in the lodge throughout your stay. You are responsible for the supervision of all members or your party under the age of 21. Children must be accompanied at all times.
3.3 Prior to check in, you must confirm the number of guests staying in the lodge. No additional guests are permitted to stay. If additional guests do stay, then we reserve the right to terminate your rental without prior notice and without refund or compensation.
3.4 No stag or hen groups are permitted to use the lodge. If, on arrival, we suspect your group falls into this category, we reserve the right to cancel your booking and no refund will be due.
3.5 Any damages incurred during your stay will result in an additional fee.
3.6 Any lost or unreturned keys will be charged at £30.00 for replacement cost.
- Access, Arrival and Departure
4.1 Vehicle access to Lodge is permitted at the following times:
- All Day, 7 days a week.
4.2 If your arrival is delayed, you must contact the Beach Lodges team as soon as possible.
4.3 If you discover that anything is damaged or missing on arrival at your lodge, please notify us immediately.
4.4 If you are unhappy with the level of hygiene of your lodge on your arrival, please notify us immediately.
4.5 Guests are required to vacate the lodge by 10am on the day of departure. On departure you are required to ensure that the keys are left in the key safe provided. Non-returned keys will incur a charge.
4.6 If you do not check out by 10am on the day of departure we reserve the right to charge you a late check out fee.
4.7 All rubbish should be removed from the lodge and placed in the external waste bins provided.
4.8 Our staff or contractors may need to access your lodge if there is an unforeseen problem, to investigate a complaint you have made, or to perform certain routine checks. If this happens, we will do our best to let you know in advance of the date and time that we will need access. Your occupation is not exclusive.
4.9 Your stay will not give rise to any tenancy agreement between us.
- Linen and towels
5.1 Bed linen, bath towels, hand towels and tea towels (excluding beach towels) are included in the rental of the lodge. If your stay exceeds 7 nights, at your request your linen can be changed during your stay.
5.2 Beach towels are not included, and the linen and towels provided should not be taken out of the lodge.
5.3 We recommend that you bring your own cot bedding with you. Travel cots can be provided if requested at time of booking.
- Security and Valuables
6.1 Any valuables are left at your own risk. It is your responsibility to ensure all doors are locked when leaving the lodge unattended and at night. You are responsible for ensuring that the lodge is left secure on departure.
6.2 Lost property will be retained for 28 days from day of departure. Items can be returned to guests for the cost of postage incurred.
- Pets
7.1 No more than 2 dogs will be permitted per stay in the lodge. Dogs are permitted on the beach directly below the lodge all year round.
7.2 We must be advised at the time of booking of any dogs intending to stay or visit. If you arrive with more than the permitted number of dogs or with a dog about which we have not been advised, then we reserve the right to terminate your rental without prior notice and with refund or compensation
7.3 Dogs must not be left unattended at any time. If we believe a dog(s) has been left in the Lodge alone, we will contact you immediately to retrieve your dog. If this doesn’t happen immediately, we will ask you to leave without a refund or compensation. Owners are reminded to be respectful in relation to dog fouling. General waste bins are available throughout the site and along the seafront for disposal of dog waste.
7.4 Please refrain from allowing dogs on beds or furniture.
7.5 Any damage caused by dogs must be paid for.
7.6 Dogs are to be kept on leads when leaving the lodge, including throughout the nature reserve
7.7 No other pets are permitted to stay in the lodges.
- Parking
8.1 Parking is available in the designated area outside the lodge.
9. Termination
9.1 We may ask you and/or any member for your party to leave immediately if your conduct results in Police attendance or is considered by us to be inappropriate, likely to cause harm or impair the enjoyment, comfort or safety of anyone, or is likely to, in our belief, cause a breach of this agreement. No refunds or compensation will be given in these circumstances and we reserve the right not to accept further bookings from you or any member of your party.
10. Privacy statement
10.1 Steamer Point Lodge (owned and operated by BCP Council) is committed to respecting your privacy. We have structured our website so that, in general, you can visit the Steamer Point Lodge website without identifying yourself or revealing any personal information. Once you choose to provide us with any information by which you can be identified, then you can be assured that it will only be used in accordance with this privacy statement. 10.2 We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and organisational controls to safeguard the information we collect online.
10.3 To assist NHS Test and Trace in the event of a local COVID-19 outbreak, Bournemouth Beach Lodge guests can register their details. This is a voluntary scheme so that NHS Test and Trace can identify and inform those who may have been exposed to COVID-19, by being in close contact with somebody who has tested positive for the virus.
If requested, your details will be released to NHS Test and Trace. This information will be kept securely by Bournemouth Beach Lodges, which is owned and operated by BCP Council, for 21 days and then deleted in line with the General Data Protection Regulations/Data Protection Act 2018.
11. Guest Feedback
11.1 In the unlikely event that you have an issue during your stay, we advise you to bring it to the attention of the Beach Lodges Manager at the time. This enables us the opportunity to rectify the problem during your stay.
11.2 Any reported matter which has not been resolved during your break should be advised in writing to Beach Lodges Manager, Bournemouth Seafront Office, Undercliff Drive, Bournemouth, BH2 5AA within 28 days of the day of departure. We will only correspond with the person making this booking.
11.3 We will not enter into further correspondence on any matter resolved during your break and accepted as such by you.
12. Governing Law
12.1 This agreement and any dispute between us will be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of England and Wales over any matter arising out of our agreement or your visit.
